The following classes meet three days per week:

English Studies
English Studies includes Grammar, Composition, Penmanship,
Spelling, and Reading.  This course requires dedication and a
longer class period in order to meet all of the curricular goals.  
This class will meet for two hours on Tuesday and Thursday
each week, with optional attendance of a 45 minute period on
Wednesdays.  The Writing and Literature will closely relate to
the study of the Middle Ages.

Math
Students will be placed in a text appropriate to their grade level
with assignments to be completed in class and at home.  Class
time at the Academy will be centered on learning games, drill,
and math labs in a mixed grade, grammar level class. Tuesday
and Thursday classes will be 1 1/2 hours and on Wednesdays
class will meet for 1 hour.

Latin
Latin class meets for 1 1/2 hours two times per week (Tue. &
Thu.) and requires daily drill and practice at home.  There is
also an additional class time included on Friday for Latin
Choir.  Students will be placed in an appropriate level (Latina
Christiana I, Latina Christiana II, or Latin Road I).

Christian Studies III: Zacharias; Angel Visits Mary; Birth of Jesus

The self-contained course of studies for our 5 - 8 year old
students is centered on Arithmetic, Religion, and Language Arts.

Students will learn to speak, spell, read, and write through an
integrated Spalding approach.

The Peterson Method of handwriting, Miquon Math materials,
Ray's Arithmetic, Montessori style learning centers, and
Singapore Math, are just a sampling of the superior materials
and teaching methods that your child will be using in our core
academic classes.

American History, Literature & Composition
Early American & World History is the first of a two year study of
American and Modern World History.  In the 2008 - 2009 school
year SFA will be offering this first year high school level course in
combination with two English courses - Literature and
Composition.  Both the Literature studied and the writing
assignments will be based on the time period being covered in
History.

on history, science, or character.  The Composition portion of the
American History course is offered in 2008 - 2009, as is a Middle
Ages course.  A Life Science is under consideration as is a

offered during the 2009-2010 school year.
