Student Activities:

Chapel and Worship:
Many of our students attend Mass every Friday
at Chapel of the Holy Family in Melbourne.  All
Catholic boys in grades 4 - 12 are either Altar
servers or in training to serve.

Latin Choir:  All SFA students participate in our
Latin Choir and learn to sing beautiful hymns of
praise in the language of the angels.

Drama Programs:  Each year, the students of
Sancta Familia perform in a Christmas Program
and a Spring Program.  Various themes and
styles have been tried, from variety shows to
full length plays.  Musical performances include
individual students as well as our school chorus.

Saint Nicholas Gifts:  Sancta Familia students
choose and purchase Christmas gifts to donate
to needy children through the Sharing Center
in Melbourne.  Other community service
projects are planned annually.

Skating / Bowling:  This year students in grades
6th & up will have regularly scheduled monthly
outings to include ice skating, roller skating,
and bowling. Younger students will participate
in similar activities in the afternoon rather than
at night.

Movie Nights

Lunch Bunch:  SFA families meet for lunch
once a month at various locations.
Field Trips
Graduation
Sports:

SFA does not currently have a large enough
enrollment to offer athletic opportunities.  Though we
do hope to have sport teams in the future, we are not
able to do so at this time.  We highly recommend
seeking athletic opportunities in the community.  For
students in our upper school, we suggest that those
interested in participation in Florida High School
Athletic Association sports enroll in a home education
program rather than in Sancta Familia Academy.
These students may still take some courses at SFA
but will be under the educational supervision of their
parents at home.  Home education students are
eligible to participate at area public and private
schools including Brevard HEAT.

For information about Brevard HEAT, visit their
website.  If you prefer to play for a school, contact the
school's Athletic Director for assistance.
Band:
Until Sancta Familia Academy finds a committed
instructor for music and band, we suggest that
students who have a serious interest in music take
private lessons and/or contact
HIS Kids of Brevard to
get involved with their Music and Theatre program.
Clubs & Organizations:

Leadership Teams & House System

Throughout the year students will participate in a variety of competitions, performances, and events through
the House System, in which each Upper School student joins one of  four houses in their 7th grade year.  As
students advance in the Upper School, they are also able to advance into leadership positions within each
House, all in hopes of besting their competing Houses in academics, athletics, and community service.

This year (2008 -2009) students will be assigned a House in 4th grade in order to create larger groups until
the Upper School enrollment grows large enough to fill four Houses.
The faculty at Sancta Familia believe the primary purpose of a school is education, but carefully planned
social and sporting events can assist in graduating well-rounded students.  There is a fine line balancing
academics with the demands of extra-curriculars, and at SFA, we are constantly working to maintain that
perfect balance.
